Let's Row!

15:19
...Not really.  I white lied to my mom telling her I couldn't do my volunteer work at the office yesterday because something came up at school.  I actually decided to go along with to rowing club because I heard they wanted to make a website and I would like to help.  I had originally wanted to join but it falls on the same day as my volunteer work.  I asked my parents if I can work on another day and they ended up forbidding me from getting on a boat when I can't even swim.  We weren't going to row yesterday anyway.

Rebecca, Molly, Peter, Josh, Jiaxie and I went to Target first because Rebecca wanted to get a bikini (apparently they run out when summer comes along and the only restocking time is in the winter.)  While Rebecca was trying them out, the rest of us were unrolling toilet paper as fast as we could.  Not literally; it's an app on Peter's iTouch.  First place went to Jiaxie and then it was Peter.  I managed to get into the top ten the first try and took third place the second time I tried.  Then Molly comes along and gets into second place out of no where.   She later tried again and placed first place! o.o  WTF.  The runner-ups were upset but poor Josh didn't even get into top ten :(  We stopped playing because Peter's battery was low.

The city is beautiful in the evening.

All I did at the rowing destination was eat.  I had one and a half peanut butter sandwiches, a hot dog, nachos, and two cups of tea.  The hot dogs were cooked with a microwave.  The water for the tea was boiled in the microwave.  There was something about hamster milk too.  After we ate, we were supposed to learn about Coxwain but since it was late, we all decided to go.  I got a call from my mom that I had to go to a restaurant dinner so I had to get off at 8 ave.  I thought I was late but it turns out the dinner was at like 8.  I had more than an hour to spare so Molly accompanied me.  She got some bubble tea and then we walked around Hong Kong Supermarket looking at bowls and soap and food, etc, had a few laughs and having me embarrass myself a couple of times.  The reason we went to the supermarket in the first place was because I had to use the bathroom.  The bathroom was in the basement.  It was horrifying with having to stare at p0rno graffiti on the door (and some racial comments in Spanish such as "Mastizos Dominicans go back to your dirty countries") as I did my business and suffocating in the stench of cigarettes (there were two cigarette buds in the toilet.)  Molly was outside complaining and lied to me saying there was a line so I hurried.  There was what seem like an employee's bathroom which was occupied when I went and she told me that when a woman came outside, that bathroom actually smelled nice.

The reason for the dinner was because my mom's friend won a gift certificate for a free duck.  My mom and I ate with her friend and her friend's husband and daughter.  We had about five dishes and all of them were new to me except the sweet and sour pork.  The image on the left shows the dish redeem from the certificate.  It's called Beijing duck I think.  We stuff the bread with a piece of duck and the so-called scallions (I think it's actually just lettuce or something close to this) and dress it in some Hosan sauce.  I took photos of the food with my phone.

The soup contains tofu, the greens and pieces of duck (with a lot of bone)

The fire goes out by itself.  This is frog.  The winter melon tasted really good.  We also had this vegetable dish and I thought it looked bitter at first but it turned out delicious.

Coconut jelly was for desert.  We also had a slice of honeydew cut into pieces and a bowl of red bean soup (without the tapioca.)  I put some of the soup on the jelly, it still tasted pretty good.
